Turn right and walk North along the Gloucester walk up to George street (if you want you can walk all the way to Dawes point lookout). Go back the way you came, but keep on going South along the Gloucester walk instead of going back into foundation park.
As you walk along Gloucester walk to the right you’ll see a lookout called Bunker Hill lookout. The 60m tall chimney stack you see was originally designed and partially constructed as a power station and then redesigned and completed as a Museum and Chemical Laboratory. Behind you is a set of high rise apartments – they are owned by the Department of Housing, they are subsidised housing and part of the social security system in Australia. The video in the Rocks Discovery Museum tells some of the history as to how this came about.
